The most distressed regions of Appalachia have 150% poverty rate over the average U.S. rate.
I recently started a nonprofit group called The Monkey Do Project to assist the most distressed regions of Appalachia.
In September 2012, I am planning a trip to the OH areas of Appalachia to meet with groups there, provide support to some of the people and hopefully deliver goods to them.
I am raising money to help fund my trip there. I have planned a three-day trip currently.
