Community Service Spring Break Trip
Donation protected
Our goal is to create an annual spring break trip oriented around community service. This year is our pilot of this trip. Five women from the Theta Chi Epsilon sorority have decided to spend their week off from school working with Collegiate Challenge, an alternative spring break trip in which the members work with Habitat for Humanity to build and renovate homes for communities in need. This year, the group will represent Michigan Tech in Woodland Park, CO to help make a home ADA compliant for a disabled mother of three. We are hoping to raise $900, which will cover the contribution cost of $150 per person, a fee that goes directly to Collegiate Challenge, as well as an additional $30 per person, a fee that goes directly to Habitat for Humanity for insurance purposes. All other costs of travel and food will be paid out of pocket by participating members. Anything raised past $900 will go into a fund to support this alternative spring break continuing in future years.
