MM Filmmaking Fund

In 2015, I launched my first GoFundMe campaign, called #OperationMakeAMovie, and raised money to MAKE first film,  Siren Song  to enter in the Louisiana Film Prize 
 
And even though we didn't make the LAFP, Top 20, we did MAKE THE MOVIE!

Despite some huge setbacks, we look forward to FINALLY being able to bring you Siren Song this coming Spring/Summer!!! Stay tuned for more info (www.facebook.com/sirensongfilm). 


Moving forward in 2017 ... We are ready to get BACK to filmmaking!

I am almost finished with the script for film #2 and plan to  shoot it in May/June 2017 and enter it in the Louisiana Film Prize, as well as other festivals.

What's the name of the film and what's it about?

The film is called "In Memoriam" and is a story about a family dealing with Alzheimer's Disease. The patient, Zora, is her 60s and trying to process how her disease is changing her ... and so are her son and daughter-in-law who have taken her in and are now acting as caregivers. This film will attempt to show how this disease affects families from different angles as they mourn the loss of the person Zora used to be.
 

Now,  as we did before, we plan to cast/hire talent and crew local to Shreveport-Bossier, and use local resources for the making of these flms ... so trust that every donation to #OperationMakeAnotherMovie (aka the MM FILM FUND) will go right back into the community and MM's effort to make quality films. 

Funding will go toward: 
- Hiring Crew [Not everyone works for free]
- Food for Cast and Crew
- Wardrobe & Hair/Makeup Artist for Cast
- Location fees, Permits & Insurance
- Prop Making & Set Dressing Needs
- Editing & Sound Mixing 
- Promotional Materials for Festival Runs
& More

- Total funding needs exceed our campaign goal but I am using my own funds (and hoping for film grant approvals) to make up the difference. 

[Now for those wondering ... I won't always seek funding in this manner, but if you know what I went through to get Siren Song  finished, you'll understand why I feel the need to make sure we're covered ... at LEAST for this festival season] 

All in all, this campaign is to CONTINUE our quest to tell stories and make our supporters, friends, family and our creative community proud. 

As we did last time, $5 is all we ask but more is appreciated.

FAQs

Q:   What happened to all the rewards? 

A:   We ran our last campaign (#OperationMakeAnotherMovie) from May to August. The campaign has now concluded, so the majority of the rewards have been removed.  But our new campaign will run from April 3 - May 3 and rewards will be added back during that period.  


Q:   I've donated to the previous campaign, when will I receive my reward? 

A:   All rewards for Siren Song have been fulfilled/shipped out as of April 2016.  If your reward was a DVD of the film, we won't be able to fulfill that reward until the film editing is complete. We apologize for any inconvenience. 


Q:  When will we be able to see Siren Song?

A:  We were planning a screening but decided not to host it last year.  For those who donated and were supposed to get screening passes, you will get access to a digital copy of the film by June 2017.  We'll keep you posted on when the film will be available for purchase via the Siren Song FB page (www.facebook.com/sirensongfilm)
