Misty Wants Her Eyesight Back

Life hasn’t been easy for our lil’ westie. Misty is 9 years old and has diabetes which, after a long struggle, has fortunately been controlled by insulin injections which she gets twice every day. However, Misty has developed mature cataracts in both eyes causing her to go blind. She manages very well around the house but, despite us trying to keep her out of harm’s way, she still bumps into tables, chairs and even ourselves on an almost daily basis. Regardless of these obstacles she is still very friendly and playful – although playing with her toys is tricky because when she throws them around she cannot see where they land. Misty also gets nervous and stressed if we take her anywhere away from home. She shakes from head to toe because she cannot see what’s going on around her. We hope to restore her eyesight through cataract surgery and give her the quality of life she deserves. We have had Misty assessed and the surgery for both eyes will cost €3,000 in total. We love Misty so much but unfortunately we don’t have the finances to pay for her surgery by ourselves. Any donation you could make towards Misty’s surgery will be a big help and a step towards her regaining her eyesight.
