End of Year School Trip To Quebec

At only the young age of 13, our first born Spencer has already had a rough life.  At the age of 8, when his mother became disabled, he found himself thrust into the role of caregiver.   Being the empathetic child that he is, Spencer never once complained. 

In the last year, things have only gotten worse.  After an illness cost his father his job, the fragile security that we had built as a family began to shatter.  As a family, we quickly found ourselves over our head, havng to choose between buying groceries and paying the mortgage.  The bank tried to work with us but you cannot pay what you don't have.  Last fall our home was foreclosed upon and Spencer lost the only home he has ever known.  Not one to complain, Spencer kept his head up and embraced our struggle to find an apartment we could afford as an adventure.  The move meant that Spencer could not graduate with the kids that he had been going to school with since kindergarten but determined to put a good face on things, Spencer talked about the new friends he would make at his new school.

The end of the year trip to Quebec is fast approaching and despite our best efforts, we are struggling to pay for the trip.  Spencer, knowing that this would a struggle for us, tried to tell us that it wasn't important but as his parents, we could see this struggle all over his face.  This kid who has lost so much and never once complained deserves to be able to celebrate with the rest of his class.  If you could help us, it would mean the world to our son.  No amount is too small and every bit would be appreciated.  It would be nice to see this kid move beyond seeing the glass as half full, to all the way full for a change.  Thank you for your time.
