Fighting Metastatic Breast Cancer

Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, Loved Ones,

My friends and I are raising money for our friend Zsaklin (Jacqueline) Stier who is suffering from an aggressive stage four breast cancer that continues to spread throughout the bones and lymph nodes. We are raising this money in order to fund her treatments as the cancer has made it impossible for her to work due to the chronic pain she is experiencing.

Zsaklin and her daughter Zsofi came to the United States in 1998 and in 2002, only four years later, Zsaklin was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was treated at North Shore LIJ and underwent a lumpectomy and radiation going into remission shortly after.  A year and a half later 2004-2005 she discovered a hard lump under her arm. The doctors found that the cancer had entered the lymphatic system and quickly removed the nodes that had been affected. She started chemotherapy and radiation once again and within a week of treatment began to lose her hair. This 8 week long drastic treatment cleared her cancer and put her in remission for the seond time. Every three months for the next five years she went to the doctor for regular check ups and everything appeared to be fine.

Mid -September of 2012 she became sick with nausea and vomiting for three weeks. She went to the doctor several times and they told her it was just a stomach bug. After returning to the emergency room for the third time the doctors finally decided to look into the issue further and discovered she had 11 lesions on the brain. A large lesion was on an area of her cerebrum which put pressure on her cerebral fluid, causing her to experience nausea and vomiting. Throughout the week the doctors eventually found several more lesions in the lungs, one on the liver, and one on the right rib.

At this point Zsaklin was officially diagnosed with aggressive stage four metastatic breast cancer which had spread throughout the brain, lungs, bones, liver and lymphatic system. As treatment for the 11 lesions pressing on her brain Zsaklin was put on steroids in order to reduce inflammation on the brain as she began to undergo radiation once again.

October 2012 not even a month later came Hurricane Sandy, a Category 3 storm. At this point Zskalin was unable to return to the hospital for radiation treatment or follow-up appointments due to power outages. Not even a month later she was diagnosed with avascular necrosis leading to hip replacement surgery due to an overdose of steroids.

For the last 3 years she has been undergoing various treatments trying to fight off the cancer cells but each full body cat-scan finds some cancer heals while some gets worse. At this point Zsaklin has been looking for alternative methods of fighting this disease such as implementing as much of the Gerson’s Therapy as she can afford to physically and financially do on her own.

At this point the pressure on her nerves in her right arm have caused her to be unable to work. Zsaklin is a dog groomer and is unable to hold the clippers at this stage in her treatment. She is currently undergoing radiation and will start taking chemotherapy pills once the radiation is over. The money we raise will go towards a Cancer Therapy Program at the Gerson Clinic in Mexico which is an estimated cost of $11,000 for two weeks without travel expenses for Zsalkin and a companion. This includes accommodations and meals for both. If we can raise this money and send her there before she begins the chemotherapy the Gerson therapy will be more effective.

“When a person receives chemotherapy, a percentage of each dose stays lodged within the body. This residue varies depending upon the dosage and length of treatment. When the Gerson Therapy begins to work, it can very quickly dislodge toxins, including chemotherapy residue from the cells into the bloodstream. Patients with these large amounts of toxins being released into their blood stream often cannot detoxify their body fast enough and can become very sick and overburden their liver. When a chemotherapy pre-treated patient comes to a Gerson clinic, the doctors modify the therapy in a number of ways and are able to monitor the patient’s response and make daily adjustments based on observation, lab tests and their years of expertise in this area.”

Any amount will be one step closer to the goal.
So much love and thanks for all of you for your support and love.
