Merry's Wheels

Merry James is 14 and a full time wheelchair user. Only 10 years ago she was able to walk and run alongside her friends, however unfortunately she has Ataxia Telangiectasia. 
A-T is a progressive neurological condition that is gradually robbing our beautiful daughter of things most of us take for granted. 
She can no longer walk, talking takes time and effort, her swallowing is not safe and she needs to have her drinks straight into her tummy. She needs help with all her personal care, but she is bright and enjoys maths and science at school. 
Her therapist has suggested that Merry would benefit from a sit-to-stand wheelchair, to promote her independence, help with social skills and most importantly give Merry control over some of her own  therapy.
The chair is extremely expensive at around £20k and we are unable to get help from statutory services.
We have already had a community event and will have some more over the coming year but we need all the help we can get to reach the target and purchase this power chair.
