Spinner desperately needs your help

Donation protected
8/26/2014- I regret to inform you all that Spinner is no longer with us. We're not sure if he blocked up again suddenly or if his kidneys shutting down last time was too much, but he got very sick very very quickly and didn't make it. My heart is shattered in a billion pieces and both Pete and I are beside ourselves in disbelief. I laid on the floor with Spinner for an entire evening and all through the night, hugging him and telling him how special he is and how much we love him. He just shut down and didn't make it. I don't really know what else to say but thank you to everyone that contributed for giving us the extra time with Spinner that we wouldn't have had without you. He will always be the most important kitty I've ever known and he is so so missed and loved. Any donated money toward his cause that didn't go to his medical bills has been used to have him cremated and will be put toward keeping our other cats Mumu and Bobba healthy and happy so they can hopefully live out their full potentials in honor of their big brother Spinner. Thank you again.

8/8/2014- so Spinner is back home, safe and sound. He seems to be feeling better for now. We were able to pay the vet for everything he needed to have done because of all of you wonderful people. We're going to try everything in our power to keep Spinner as healthy and happy as he can be. He will be on prescriptions the rest of his life. He still has a good chance of blocking again and that will result in emergency urethra surgery, which will be very expensive as well. All of the contributions on this page will be going toward maintaining his health and keeping my kitty alive as long as we can. Reaching the goal amount on this page will ensure that we can go through with the life saving surgery if (and when) it will be needed. I will leave this page open to contributors for as long as we have Spinner. Being someone with many health issues myself, it's tough having another chronic illness in the family that needs to be paid for monthly.

All of the tears that have come this week have been exhausting and wonderful at the same time. I am absolutely in awe that so many strangers have helped Spinner, my very first cat I've ever had...the one that turned me into a crazy cat lady! He is such a lover and would never sit in a room alone if there are people that can be petting him. Everyone at the vet's office told us how much they adored him and loved having conversations with him [he is extremely talkative!!] A huge chunk of our hearts has returned and that is all thanks to every one of you who have contributed money or time sharing our story. Thank you thank you thank you. From the bottom of Spinner's furry little heart.

8/6/2014-
I just talked to the vet, and it's sounding like Spinner is going to have to get urethra surgery which is going to cost $1500, along with this current visit being $800 (which is 200 more than we were expecting....) She said he has so many crystals in his bladder that she could see them on the ultrasound, and that when she got him unblocked, his urine felt like sand. She also said that his kidneys shut down because of it. I am so terrified that he is going to die from this. I've changed our goal to try to get closer to covering this surgery that he's going to have to have to keep him alive and healthy..anything helps. I am so amazed at the generosity of people already, but I am asking for more help.....this is breaking my heart. I don't even know what to type anymore. I have no idea how we're going to get almost $2500 for this.......

8/4/2014- My cat Spinner is only 3 years old and he's got a blockage in his urethra making it so he can't pee and he's in a lot of pain. He needs emergency surgery in the next couple of days or he will die from it. He's had the procedure before, and it cost us over $500 that we didn't have to begin with, and he needs it again asap. He is the first kitty I've ever owned and I am broken-hearted hearing his screams and moans of being in pain. There is absolutely no way we can pay another $500+ to take him to the vet again to have this taken care of. His bladder is a big hard ball full of urine that he can't get out. I'm terrified that he's not going to make it because our vet doesn't do any kind of payment plans. Please help my baby boy. Anything and everything will be greatly appreciated. I just hope we can help him in time because having a plugged urethra can literally kill him in a few days time. Please, he's still a baby, he's only 3. He's so important to our lives.

Love,
Melissa, Pete, Spinner, Mu, and Bobba

[I realize that the url and create date are different/old. I changed a previously made donation page I had from last year because there was already a donation on it and wanted to put that toward Spinner.]
