Saleia has always been the type of person who strives to meet the goals she sets for herself. Two years ago, after earning her Master’s degree, she was successfully negotiating a rigorous Doctorate program. Her dream was to have this lead to a career in which she could easily provide for her family, while doing what she loved. That all changed with a diagnosis of cancer.
On March 1, 2013 she learned she was suffering from treatable, but incurable, cancer. She fought this cancer with a strength and faith that has inspired others, and has won this battle. But, her journey is not over. At some point, the cancer will return. In knowing this, Saleia has chosen to simplify her life in order to better provide for her future health. Unfortunately, leaving the Doctorate program has still left her with outstanding student loans, and her health has limited the careers she can pursue

The overwhelming strain of this burden has left Saleia at a loss. A struggle she is reluctant to share, but one that is very real. Her biggest concern has been how she will meet this obligation and still provide for her daughter. Her solace has been her trust in God and his ultimate plan for her.
Saleia has served her country honorably in the U.S. Air Force. She is a dedicated mother, vital support to her family, and an inspiration to her friends. Her outgoing and fun-loving personality makes it easy to be her friend. She is loyal and compassionate, and always puts others before herself. Even in the midst of her struggle with cancer, she would not hesitate to be there for others.
Saleia needs our help now more than ever. No matter how little you can give, even if it's only one dollar, know that it is appreciated more than you could ever imagine. Please send Saleia your positive thoughts and well wishes as she fights this battle. My wish is to help ease the stressful burden of her student loans and help give her peace of mind.
