Homeless Women Need A New Ctr

Please help us raise money for our homeless women. We are looking to expand our center so that we can fulfil the needs of our women. Currently we have about 15- 30 women in our center daily with multiple needs and we only have average sized rooms to accomidate different workshops, activities and events. We are really in need of hiring more staff to better accomidate the daily needs of the women, to facilitate the added programs. We often find it difficult to have more than two activities in the same hour for our women because of the lack of space. We are really in need of expanding our center. Please help our women prosper!
Most of the women we serve here at our day center in Montgomery County Maryland have lost everything causing them to become homeless. Most of the women here have been abused and/or are just in need of mental support and stimulation to accomplish their dreams to get their lives back on track. Often times our women are overlooked and their voices are unheard. We are not only in need of a larger space and updates to further accommodate more women and their various needs, but we need to incorporate housing into our program.
Montgomery Avenue Women's Center (MAWC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3). We are the only daytime center that provides daily services exclusively for homeless women in Montgomery County Maryland. As humanitarians we devote ourselves to helping the women achieve self-sufficiency and self-satisfaction.
She is homeless because
as a child she faced more traumatizing incidents
than she was ever supposed to endure
that she is so uneasy
she can't overcome it
so she let herself go
wondering the streets asking for money
But now this is all she knows
she doesn't believe she can do better
she has no ambition or aspirations
this is why she is on the streets
But she wasn't always homeless
She lived in her own place
with her family
until tragedy struck
