Let's Help Maribel's Fight!

Donation protected

This was very hard for me to write today. All of you who knows about my sister's fight to live and have been through this journey with me in admiring how much she is a living testimony of surrendering fully to God and keeping her faith inspite of all the trials she continues to face with having kindey failure and valley fever. Maribel is a true warrior who I am honored to call my baby sister.

Maribel is a mother of 2 sons and wife to her husband Daniel. At the age of 25 her kidneys failed. For many years, especially the past year, with my amazing brother-in-law, who has taken unbelievable care for my sister, has lost his mother and father within months, and just recently, several close family members this past year, which has taken a major toll on the family  emotionally and financially and he has used all his family medical leave and vacation time to mourn and to take care of my sister as she transitioned back to dialysis after losing her kidney transplant.

Than this past Friday we got the bad news of Maribel got admitted once again to the hospital and to our dismay, the valley fever has come back. So this being the fourth occurance, my sister reached out to me to help her raise funds with hopes of her husband, Daniel to be the main care giver due to the long scheduled treatments that will have to take place the next couple months. He wants to take an unpaid leave of absence from his work to just focus on taking care of my sister and their family.

My sister's 10 year fight with kidney failure and now valley fever has made life challenging in so many ways. They have lost their vehicles and had to make a lot of lifestyle changes that has only humbled them. They have barely asked for any outside help during the many years fighting for my sister's health. The hospital knows their situation and has offered for my sister to go to a long term care facility which we all feel is the last resort. Daniel is a certified nursing assistant and is more qualified to care for my sister as he always have. There situation is very challenging and they don't qualify for support services. This is why he has not left his job and is not intending to until finding something with good benefits. With the extended leave of absence they can finally ask for assistance but it will take up some time to process.

Many people have asked how they can help in any way possible and we feel so very blessed that we have been getting texts, phone calls, and private facebook messages on how you all can help. My goal is to reach out to all my family, friends and community whether it's $1, $5, or $20...every little bit counts. I believe that it is now the time that my sister and her family needs to be more focused in helping her heal than worry about finances. In the past they have been able to get by financially with help from close family members, as well as her church, who has helped in the past tremendously. But now Maribel felt with the many obstacles that has come before them this past year, it is time to ask for assistance since my brother-in-law has no more paid leave of absence.

Your donations can help their family to purchase a more reliable car to take Maribel to all the different treatment centers and appointments. But most importantly, funds that can help them pay for monthly expenses, unexpected visits to ER, medications, surgeries, hospitalizations, etc. This is definitely the time that is needed to help with Maribel's Fight in hopes that with all of your help, we won't have to encounter this awful occurence with valley fever and she can heal in more peace. Again thank you for all your support, prayers, and concerns. You all have been so awesome in reaching out.

To all those that don't know about my sister, please take the time to read her inspiring stories about having faith, staying rooted, and living each day like it is your last just being grateful for being able to just live.

You will see I can no longer speak for myself because I am nothing without his grace. This gift is what I offer of myself! It is a testimony that I must share. So the story continues and please continue to keep the faith within. God is doing marvelous things in all of our lives and I am just a little fragment to testify that even in the darkest situations God is very powerful and his love is unconditional! The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O Lord, endures forever. Psalm 138:8
