Dryden's Surgery for Amblyopia

Donation protected
Meet Dryden. For over two years, we have been fighting to get him surgery for amblyopia .

Amblyopia is the medical term used when the vision in one of the eyes is reduced because the eye and the brain are not working together properly. The eye itself looks normal, but it is not being used normally because the brain is favoring the other eye.

It is important to have this surgery completed between 3 and 6 to reduce risks of permanent blindness, inability to see at night, or other issues. Dryden has gone through eye drops, patches, several glasses, and multiple doctor appointments just so he can have the chance to see like his brothers. We are happy to announce that our son has been scheduled  for February 26, 2015.

Unfortunately, we have not met our deductible for insurance and this surgery is costly. The doctor's office informed us today (February 11th) that we have to provide them the amount due  before the surgery in order to keep it scheduled. This is obviously upsetting for us as we have had our son in and out of doctor offices for this issue since he was two-years-old in attempts to get him the services needed.
