Lydia Elle - Project Story in Song

To even think that this is going to happen is still amazing to me!!!
As a little girl I can't say that I knew I wanted to be a singer, but I knew I loved to sing. My house was always full of great music like Take Six, Stevie Wonder, Sandi Patti, and Micheal Jackson. Music gives me an escape into such a big world of possibilities and wonder as dreams come true.
But, like so many of us, life happened. I found myself existing in life, thinking that maybe this dream wasn't meant for me due to the responsibilities that I had. I found myself as a single mother of my beautiful baby girl, London, that I lost myself in the aftermath of difficulty and I became more consumed with doing than being.
However, I went to a competition a few years ago and I won for singing , modelling, acting and the duet segment. Even though I had a music degree, I didn't believe that I was good enough to do music until that moment. I was able to emote from the depths of my heart and when a lady came up to me and said 'She felt God in my voice' I realized that I needed to figure out how to finally share my gift.
So, I quit my job at the Pentagon as an analyst, sold everything I owned, packed up my daughter and moved to Los Angeles. For the past two and a half years I have been singing, writing , learning, and preparing for my moment to share.
With a best selling book and the privilege I have had to speak across the country about my story , I know it is time to share my story in song. My life mission is sharing the lessons of my journey to help you with your own. Have I been depressed? Absolutely. Have I felt alone? Yes there was that too. Has this been easy? Anything but! However, I know for sure that each of every step prepared me to take this one now and I am ready for it.
It is with the fortified support of the Global Sisterhood of Women that this opportunity really became a reality for me. Singing for the Global Sisterhood of Women Gala this past April , I saw that it was time for me to step forward. With my angel and dear friend, the founder and CEO of Global Sisterhood of Women , Dr. Shellie Hipsky, she encouraged me to take my place in music history and I am forever grateful to her for showing me the parts of myself that I have sometimes forgotten.
