Help Rebuild Our Church!!

Donation protected
*(side note: this church did not write this; I, Nina Luque, (being a very close friend and once a member of this congregation and Pastors kid) felt it was necessary to put their need before the public. They in no way had a hand in asking for this. I wanted to make that known, that they have faith like a mustard seed and I feel they are worthy candidates for help. I write this as part of their church family.)*

"If you build it, they will come." Famous words from Kevin Costner's character in The Field Of Dreams.

This was the vision and the dream of the Nampa Vineyard Christian Fellowship. We have been in business for years. Church planting out of the Boise Vineyard and hopping from school gym, to tent, to building, civic center, and back to a tent with various places in between. Wandering nomads. Packing our large amount of music equipment and necessities along everywhere and setting up each meeting. We have a heart to serve; we believe in coming as you are and being accepted and becoming useful vessels for servant-hood in any capacity you're given.

We have built and stored food in a foodbank and we've provided for the community for many years as well.  Working alongside Winco and other grocers and the Idaho Foodbank and other donators to provide for the needs of the people in the community with no strings attached. This ministry has included many early hour pick up's and long hours of prep and outreach. We've done park outreaches and other local community programs as well.

After over 5 years of dreaming, we decided to have faith and felt it was time to start building a home for ourselves and be a permanent fixture in the Nampa area. And with baby steps toward the goal...we stepped out in faith.  The many things you have to do to get prepared to even start a project this big are numerous. We spent years getting funding, planning and zoning approval, materials, and a building loan. However, we broke ground early summer 2014 and finished the foundation and flooring in the fall along with starting to get the main walls up during the fall and early winter.

We have done all the steps with our senior pastor Kurt Eshelman as the contractor and our small band of volunteers and helpers on any spare hour they can band together and work. Some are skilled, some are not, but all are willing. The work is slow and tedious at times but a fulfillment of the Lord's plan and our church body's love. The small amount the congregation has been able to raise, barely keeps the work going but we keep building. We believe if we build it, they will come!

Now for a heartbreaking turn of events.

Building in any season can be rough and nature has its ways of crazy. This being said, we had worked on trusses a few days ago. Unfortunately we had a microburst and the trusses had just been set when the storm hit and blew them down before there was a chance to get them fully tied in. This was happening before our eyes. All the hard work and laborious hours melting away. Materials being snapped like twigs under the winds pressure. Caving in down into the building. Tears came...words could not be expressed enough to show the pain in the eyes of the congregation. Lord...what a setback. A HUGE setback. Yes, we have insurance, but the building has to be assessed and we are not to touch it till insurance inspectors are done with their paperwork. We have to sit and watch and wait, but are so thankful we did have ins. and that noone was hurt.  This will at least help with costs.

Unfortunately the damage has wreacked havoc on our finances. We barely had enough to plow ahead. We do not have extras for replacements of items not fully covered...renting more Crane time and honestly the man power and labor force to pick ourselves back up, clean up and get back on track.

This is where I feel I can put this need before the public and other church bodies. Maybe if local help can band together and come help rebuild in man-force...or give. Give and it shall be given back. The pay it forward idea. If you feel that this is a worthy cause to add your love and time to...please give in a way that you feel led. I'm sure they would appreciate anything!

I would love to say that they would be blessed by others as they have given so much and not asked for anything in return. Let's bless these people. You may not know them or live anywhere close, but how awesome the human spirt feels when it has given!

I thank you for reading this, and sharing it along in your busy day. May you be blessed and feel His love throughout your day. God bless.
