Lux on Her Side
Donation protected
CSUF Nursing Student Association (NSA) is proud to sponsor the Women's Transitional Living Center (WTCL) by donating a three-month supply of feminine hygiene products (we hope to donate much much more!)
The purpose of this page is to support women who do not have the financial means of purchasing these taxable life necessities. Women who cannot purchase these items suffer from urinary and reproductive tract infections, toxic shock syndrome, and many more preventable diseases. Therefore, we want to bring attention to this public health concern and boost public awareness of CA bills AB 9 & 10 which aim to eliminate the luxury tax on menstrual products.
The average menstruating woman will spend over $5000 on menstrual products over a lifetime!
Therefore, we need your support to accomplish this goal. Your donations will be used to purchase products that will be taken to the WTCL Center. As a general guideline for donations we have included the average price of menstrual products:
-Pantyliners $2.97
-Ultra-thin pads $5.29
-Maxi pads $6.79
-Tampons $7.99
-Diva Cups $27.99
If you attend CSUF and would prefer to donate physical items, we would love to receive your unopened boxes of tampons, pads, liners, and menstrual cups at one of our donation sites on campus: KHS 182, outside of elevators on the 1st floor EC Building, or outside the nursing office in the EC Building.
Lastly, we ask you to contact your state politicians and take a stand for social justice! If you would like more information about this movement visit our website at www.csufnsa.weebly.com, and go under the "Lux On Her Side" tab.
Thank you for your support!
