Lukas is in speech therapy now twice a week.

He is doing well pronouncing some new sounds and is enjoying it very much.

Lukas had his follow-up MRI.

The great news is that the tumor does not appear to have grown over the last three months.

After the MRI, we met with the Brain Surgeon and Oncologist. Next week we meet with the Endocrinologist. Lukas may need hormone meds, as he grew two inches in three months, and his glands controlling growth are damaged.

Lukas was a trooper and did very well with his day at Albany Med. We are very proud of him. :)

The Story...
Lukas had headaches on Saturday, the doctor was called Sunday, and in an hour we were in the hospital for an MRI. We saw the look on the face of the radiologist, while the tears poured down Lukas' face as he tried to stay still in the MRI machine.
Soon after we were rushed to Albany Medical Center for a second MRI. This confirmed our fears.

Lukas had a cyst the size of a tennis ball pressing on a tumor nearly the same size. To illustrate the size and position, the doctor balled up his fists and put them together.

Lukas underwent an operation removing much of the tumor, but we are not out of the woods yet. The tumor is intertwined with his optic nerves, pituitary gland, which controls over 20 bodily functions, hypothalamus, and brain arteries.

Lukas is blind in one eye, and we are in hopes that he keeps sight in the other.

Lukas is already on several medicines to control many bodily functions, as well as seizures. These medicines will most likely need to continue for life.

Please help in any way that you can and forward this page link to as many people as possible, whether it be email, word of mouth, or Facebook.

The estimated costs for such a surgery and long term post care are in the hundreds of thousands AFTER insurance. (Over 300k as of January)
Thank you so much for helping spread the word.

Keith, Kristina, Lukas and Ava.

Everyone please take a minute to read over this little mans story. I don't have the pleasure of knowing this little boy but, I am sure that if anything had happened to my little peanut people would reach out their hands to help as well!...Pass this along, I'm sure any dollar can help in some way! Prayers for Lukas!!

I am hoping everyone will share this story with their friends. Lukas needs so much more than the operation. In all, it will cost hundreds of thousands before he is well. This is a long road for him and family. Please donate whatever amount you can as it is so appreciated. thank you all!
