Service dog to keep Lucas safe!

Donation protected

Lucas is 2.5 years old and was just recently diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder this fall. It's been a crazy, emotional ride ever since. We've been getting him started in intensive therapy of 25 hours a week to hopefully be able to help him manage his disorder better! We believe in our little man so much and are doing the best we can to help him reach his full potential. There are many bumps in the road as he grows up and we are starting notice more things that make him a danger to himself.

Many people may not know this but autistic children have the tendency to run off and many of them do not respond to verbal commands or even their names. Lucas is one of those sweet kiddos. We've recently had two incidents where he's gotten out of the front door due to the door not closing all of the way. We realized immediately and ran after him but he was already at the end of the street, squealing as we did because he thinks we're playing a game.

That's my sweet boy. He's the most loving and cuddly little angel you'll ever meet and it scares me to no end the thought of losing him because he's run off somewhere. The service dogs that are trained for autistic children can be tethered to your child to keep them close by, can be trained to track your child if they run off and keep them away from water and other dangerous situations. Autistic children are not aware of how dangerous many situations can be. This dog could also help Lucas start to gain some independence out in public by not having to be strapped into a seat. This dog could help him sleep better and even help his sensory issues by applying deep pressure to him and interrupting stimming behaviors. But most of all, in the worst of circumstances, this dog could possibly save our baby's life if he got away from us.

A dog like this would give companionship to our boy that he has a hard time gaining with other children and could give us, his parents, a little more peace of mind. Any little bit will help us get one step closer to reaching our goals as we start other fundraising processes in addition to this.

All of your contributions will be donated directly to the organization that provides the service dog to us. Once we've raised the required amount, our sweetie will be qualified for a dog!!

Thank you for your time and God bless!
