Jeremey's Medical Funds

The Jeffers family consist of Jeremy, Kristen, Jaxon, Kamren, and Mason.  Jeremy and Kristen have been married for 12 years in April and have three fun and energetic boys.  Jaxon is 11, Kamren 9, and Mason 8.  They are originally from a rural community in Northwest Missouri, but they have recently moved to the suburb of Liberty, MO.  They have always been a very active family and involved with their community.  Jeremy has coached multiple teams for the boys' sporting events and has been a den leader for Mason's boy scout troop.  He is an amazing father to his boys.  Jeremy is also a person that you can count on and would help anyone in need.

In January of 2015 Jeremy was on a work trip in Florida.  He was having strange symptoms and went to the E.R.  While he was there Kristen flew down to join him and comfort him.  They were in the hospital in  Florida for almost a week and were eventually released to return to Missouri and be admitted at North Kansas City Hospital.  They knew the process of returning from Florida to Kansas City would be an extremely difficult trip for both of them, and it was as Jeremy was in pain and struggling throughout the process, but he wanted to return home to be closer to his three boys.
After they arrived in Kansas City he was immediately admitted into NKC Hospital in the ICU.  During his stay they ran multiple tests and found he had lesions on his brain.  They had hoped these lesions were infectious in nature from a previous tooth infection, but there was a possibility it would be cancer.  At this point Jeremy and Kristen had a tough decision on whether to do a biopsy of the lesions.  This decision was difficult because the location of the lesions made it a very difficult procedure.  Although the procedure was risky, they wanted to be informed and not take chances of what the lesions were and proceeded with the biopsy.
The biopsy results were not what the family had been praying for, and showed that Jeremy did have brain cancer.  Jeremy was diagnoed with a glioblastoma multiforme brain tumor stage 4.  This brain tumor is an extremely aggressive tumor and the prognosis has not been a positive one.
Jeremy and Kristen decided to begin immediate treatment on the tumor, but there is still little that doctors can do.  Because of the location of the tumor surgery is not an option.  Jeremy was released from NKC hospital in order to be at home with his boys.  Although he is home, it has not been an easy situation.  Following the biopsy Jeremy became paralyzed on the right side of his body.  Because of this, he relies a lot on Kristen, his family, and friends for help.   He has recently began his treatment process and is taking an oral chemo and receiving radiation daily.  Beyond these treatments he also gets visits from physical therapy and occupational therapy on a regular basis.  He is eventually hoping to be able to walk up his stairs to see his boys' bedrooms again.
Because of Jeremy's medical situation Kristen has been staying home from her work to help him daily.  Many people have stepped in to help with their boysand they are extremely grateful for their family and friends.  Also, throughout this entire process Jeremy has become closer to God and his faith and love have escalated.  He is hoping to share his story in order to share his love for God to others.

This is the story of what has happened to the Jeffers Family.  As the weeks progress they are beginning to receive medical bills from the hopsital in Florida and NKC.  They are also having expenses for chemo and radiation.  Beyond these expenses, they are in need of a new vehicle to transport Jeremy to and from his daily radiation and other medical appointments.   Any donations for this family would be greatly appreciated.  They not only are appreciative for donations, but any prayers as well.  They ask that they are continuously in your prayers.

Again, any help would be appreciated for this young family and thank you for taking the time to read their story.
