Love for Lincoln

Little Lincoln James was welcomed into the world on Saturday March 21st at 12:59pm. He was 5 weeks 1 day early weighing in at 4lbs 13oz and 17.5 in long. He has a skin condition called Ichthyosis, which is a family of genetic skin disorders characterized by dry, scaling skin that is thickened. We wont know which strain Lincoln has until we start skin biopsies, we cant start those until his condition settles down from birth. As of right now we don't know much about his future until we know which strain he has, and then we will start our journey with childrens hospital. He is in the NICU and will stay anywhere from 3-4 weeks depending on how his skin is doing and how he is just improving as a Preemie in general. He stays in a 80% humidified incubator and gets lathered in Vaseline every hour. He seems to be comfortable and he is very loved by all his nurses!

We are joining together to raise money to help with the additional costs that Adam and Kaysie are now facing.   Adam has used up all of his PTO from work so any addtional time off they will have no income, Kaysie is boarding at the hospital for a week or so, and with that comes unexpected expenses. They need to rent a hospital grade breast pump that the insurance will not cover, They have been using donor milk and have now reached thier limit for donor milk being free and have to start paying for it until she gets a good milk supply, extra fuel costs going back and forth to the hospital while Lincoln is in the NICU as well as trips back and forth to Childrens Hospital. At 2 months old Lincoln will need to get Genetic testing done which is very expensive and will not be covered by insurance. Every little thing adds up!
