Hey there! I have invasive DUCTAL CARCINOMA with HER2/3+ In my right breast. I also, have a couple of lymph nodes that are swollen. My surgery is scheduled for 3/27/18 at Medical City Plano for a double mastectomy. My recovery time is expected to be 5-6 weeks off work. I might be able to return for light duty (office) then slowly work up to driving a bus again. The doctor said my arm will get really fatigued due to the removal the lymph nodes & I will have to wear a compression sleeve. I will have to do Chemo & radiation treatment after my surgery.
So, with all the medical expenses & off work time I need a little help to get me through this.
Our medical insurance only starts paying 100% once we reach out of pocket $7,655.00. We have to pay the first $1,000.00 then it goes to a 80/20.
With everything coming at us so fast we have already paid over $2,500 just in the last week.
I do have short term disability through Lovejoy ISD that will pay 60% of my wage after I have been off work for 14 days. This means they will start paying me on the 15 day. I do not have any sick days left to use get me through this “gap” in these days.
This process is going to take at least 18 months that we know of at this point. That means in September, my insurance will have to be meet again.`
Anything, that you would like to do is so appreciated & I will never be able express or convey to everyone just how “Special” each one of you are to me, Dempsey, & my boys.
