Hello all! We are just 4 days away from our 3rd annual tree sale and community event for Poppy! For those of you following her story you can read more about the last few months and her recent neck surgery at littlepoppyseeds.wordpress.com
The first portion of Poppy's hand surgeries is now funded and Boston is a go for this spring!
This years tree sale will start the ball rolling to fund the second portion of surgery and the associated costs.
I want to thank you all for continuing to share her story and support her and her little family through all of this.
We hope to see many of you at the big event this weekend! Xo!
We went to thank each and everyone of you for all you have done. It's each of you that is making this so successful and those of you who have sent out the $10 challenge to your friends, it has made a bigger difference than you could ever imagine. The one dollar per finger challenge has brought in so much.
Little Poppy Avalon brought a soul full of ferocity, love, and laughter with her when she entered the world just a short time ago. Since then, she continues to defy all odds and surprise even her doctors with her abilities and triumphs. Diagnosed shortly after birth with a rare genetic disorder, Poppy has endured more in her short time than most of us will in a lifetime "“ and she still has many terrifying hurdles ahead (that I am sure she will clear with grace). Poppy's first few years will be a bittersweet array of absolute heartache and celebrations. Help me plant the seeds necessary so that I may stay by her side through every surgery, struggle, and smile. No one else in this world can provide the care, love, and attention she needs in this first year and beyond. For those of you who have asked what you can do to help: help me stay close enough to touch, close enough to nurse, close enough to teach her that even though she has been given a hard hand: she can always count on Mommy to be there when she opens up those big, beautiful eyes. UPDATE: Poppy is now in need of a $60,000 surgery to create fingers on each of her hands. Times are trying, and insurance wont cover an experienced surgeon in Boston, MA If you are able: your support will be appreciated for a lifetime and beyond.
