The Solar Car Challenge is the top project-based STEM Initiative helping motivate students in Science, Engineering, and Alternative Energy. The SCC Education Program developed in 1993 as a high school extra-curricular program, and later evolved into the Solar Car Challenge Foundation. The Solar Car Challenge Education Program teaches high school students how to plan, design, engineer, build, and race roadworthy solar cars.
The high school students attending Lisa Academy North are currently constructing a solar car and will participate in the national competition in July of 2019. In fact, this is the only solar car in Arkansas that has qualified for the national competition in Dallas, Texas.
Donation Uses
The money we earn will be used for a variety of things, such as:
-Feeding the members of Solar Car during our workshop days and the two-week competition. If the desired amount of money is not earned, the Solar Car team will be required to pay for all of the expenses themselves, which several members cannot afford to do.
-Paying for travel and hotel expenses, as paying for residing in a hotel for two weeks is too monetarily straining for most of the team’s members.
-Purchasing materials and tools to construct a better and more efficient solar car for the upcoming competition.

This would be a wonderful opportunity for your organization to have some visibility in front of an audience who could benefit and value from your participation at the competition. Donation Privileges
For certain amounts of philanthropic deeds provided, there are several benefits and bonuses. You could get an advertisement on the car, or a large or small logo on the Solar Car T-shirts, for example. It all depends on how much you donate to us, which can be in several smaller donations or one large donation. We have implemented a three-tiered reward system:
-Silver Sponsors: For a $150-$499 donation, a small logo will be placed on the solar car.
-Gold Sponsors: This includes donations from $500-$1999 and will be rewarded by the inclusion of a large logo on the solar car and a small logo on the team shirts.
-Platinum Sponsors: $2000 or more, we will place your big logo on the solar car and on the team shirts, mention your name on every social media accounts, news and interviews.
