Where We Started

We started this project with a dream, a lot of broken equipment and a whole lot of hope.  We had two playgrounds in massive need of replacement and lots of broken structures around the park.  Every inch of metal was rusted and nails were sticking out.  Something needed to change.

Where We Are Now

WOW! We have won 7 grants for this project! We have received lots of community donations as well for a grand total of $149,000 raised! This has been enough money to replace the pre-school structure and purchase equipment for the upper age structure.  We've been raising money for lots of other upgrades too--like infrared security cameras to protect this new investment from vandalism! We plan to start building the second playground on March 21st. Sign up to volunteer to help build at the bottom of this page!

Additionally: drinking fountain, hop scotch boards, BBQ grill, benches.

ADA Drinking Fountain: our new drinking fountain is vandal resistant and will stand the test of time.  It will also have a child height spout and a dog dish! ADA Upgrades: The park will be wheelchair accessable for children and families! This is necessary and required by law.  We will have better access points all around the park! 

Surfacing Materials and Construction Supervision: We will put safe bark chips under the equipment to catch kids when they fall.
