Help Chrissy Get A Prosthetic Leg

Donation protected
Christina is a 24 year old full-time graduate student, and new mother to a beautiful baby girl, Cayden. Christina graduated with honors from the Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) high school. Afterward, she went on to pursue a Psychology degree at California University of Pennsylvania. When she graduated in December of 2011, she decided to pursue her Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at California University of Pennsylvania.

Late in the evening on August 22, 2013, Christina Kenney and Farren Mason Jr. were driving down Butler Street in Pittsburgh, PA. The inclement weather that night caused the car to hydroplane into opposing traffic, which resulted in a head on collision. Luckily, their one month old daughter was not in the car with them at the time. The two survived the accident, but it resulted in life altering injuries. Farren Mason Jr. suffered from a broken arm, fractured ribs, and a fractured sternum, which ended his season as a football player at Robert Morris University. Unfortunately, Christina's injuries were more severe. Doctors had to repair her fractured wrist, hip, and broken shoulder, reconstruct her left ankle, and amputate her right leg from the shin down. For the next couple of months Christina will no longer be able to continue perusing her master's degree. Her participation with her Sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., in community service and events will also be hindered and restricted. As of now, doctors project that Christina will be hospitalized until December 2013.

In order for Christina to have a normal life and be the mother that she wishes to be; she requires a prosthetic leg. The medical bills from several surgeries, lengthy hospitalization, and rehabilitation have made her financial responsibilities overwhelming. Christina faces the reality that she and her family cannot afford a prosthetic leg. Without the prosthetic, Christina's life will not return to normal, and she will be forced to live with the numerous limitations of this handicap. Her dream is to be able to run after her daughter as she grows, to actively play with her, drive her to her doctor's appointments and school, and actively continue to pursue her master's degree at Cal U. Please consider helping make Christina's dreams a reality and donate to this great cause. She and her family will greatly appreciate any monetary gifts or donations. Thank you for your support.
