Dear Friend of Lee Academy,
We continue to thrive and the building on Dunbar Avenue feels more and more like home to the students and faculty with each passing year! We have 200 young learners in our 13 full inclusion classrooms of grades K0-Grade 1, and every child is receiving high quality instruction and support from our staff.
Providing an excellent early-childhood education requires consistent collaboration between all the members of our community. The Lee Academy staff is united in its vision of educating every child through exceptional programming and by building a trusting relationship with each child’s family. This requires resources beyond what public funding provides, so I am writing to ask you to support two initiatives at this extraordinary school:
Home Visiting
Thanks to generous donors, we continued our home visiting program this fall! Teachers and parents agree that these visits provide an opportunity to build a meaningful homeschool relationship. A national study has linked home visits to improved attendance, reading skills, and parent engagement, all key factors for school success. Already this year we have completed home visits for 75% of our students! In fact, at a recent governing board meeting, two new parent board members shared that receiving a home visit was the most important factor in their decision to send their child to the Lee Academy. Your gift of $65 allows us to make this homeschool connection for one family.
Music Classes
Lee Academy is committed to educating the whole child. To this end, last year we added weekly music instruction to our students’ schedules. Due to a tight school budget, we need to support this initiative with outside funds. $500 covers one month of music classes for all of our students.
