Jeaux's LA Zinefest OR Bust Journey

Donation protected
Ever since I was little, I've dreamed of being a cartoonist.

I dreamed of being published alongside my cartooning heroes and sitting across from them in booths at conventions, sharing a slice of pizza with them and doodling in one another's sketchbooks.

I received that opportunity a few times- after highschool, in the late 90s with my former mentor in the comics industry, Hart "The Most Dangerous Man In Comics" Fisher of Boneyard Press. I am very thankful, and grateful, to Hart for believing in me and being the 1st to publish me and my work and for showing me what comic-con was like before big bad Hollywood took over.
But then something happened.

Somewhere along the way that crippling artist's self doubt jumped on my back and wouldn't let go. I've run the gamut with everything from "Am I good enough?" questions, to being too broke to afford to self publish, to not know where to begin, feelings of rejection, being a technophobe, feelings of laziness, depression, fear.

Talking with a friend, I realized that I'm George Mcfly (of Back to The Future fame), and my personal Fear is my bully, Biff.

Well, I'm tired of being scared of Biff. It's time I gather up the courage to knock him out and lay him flat on the ground for good.

But I need your help.

You are MY Marty, and you can help me conquer my fear of Biff and help me realize my dream once again of self publishing my own comic work, and getting behind the other side of a booth! The plan is to eventually hit San Diego Comic Con, but I thought I'd start small and try my luck at boothing at LA Zinefest! I'm still scared as hell, but am really excited about doing this!

I'm asking for $500 for publishing costs, and to cover the booth/application fees. Whatever they might be.
I'm tired of making my own mini-comics from Kinko's/Fedex and would love the opportunity to go the big boy and girl route of self publishing for once.

Here is a list of Comics I'd love to Self Publish!

That's great, but what do you get for helping me out?

There will be 3 level tiers depending on how much you contribute.

$1-20: Low Level

$25-50: Mid Level

$60-100: High Level

Please post your name, and email address along with your donation in order to receive your mystery doodle, cosplay caricature, or cartoon pop art portrait. Of course, if you'd prefer to remain anonymous, we can work something out too.

Any help you can provide me with will be greatly appreciated and will be put to very good use.

Thank you in advance!

Very sincerely,
