The Connection Project

for this year's fundraiser

Hosting community recovery events has been a large part of Last Door Recovery Society’s 32 year success story.  Your donation to this project will help people survive and overcome their addiction and live without the use of drugs. Along the way families, employers and friends get an opportunity to heal.

Addiction rates in Canada rose 203% in the past 10 years, these numbers are alarming, and more creative and innovative treatment services are needed.

ISOLATION becomes the reality of many addicts. The need for all of us to CONNECT is the basis of the Connection Project. Our message is that RECOVERY works.

Each year Last Door seeks donations from its stakeholders and supporters to help fund community initiatives. In recent years,  as more and more younger people are seeking treatment, there is a need for more and larger events to keep young people engaged in recovery lifestyles.  Our supporters suggested that since hundreds of young people are dying from fentanyl overdoses that we start a GoFundMe campaign to help support our biggest “Community Engagement Project Fund.”

Last Door’s community events are driven by a team of volunteers and donations from people like you.  Events help remove the stigma of addiction while raising the image of recovery lifestyles as a reality in a world where there seems to be no hope.  Our Community Engagement Project Fund can counteract the negative effects of nationwide health care cost cutting and social program funding reduction.

This year's "Connection Project" requires your donations to help produce the following events:

- Family Fun Day, June 25, 2016
- Pride Day Recovery Float, July 31, 2016
- "Untoxicated” Street Festival,  July 31, 2016
- Sports Day,  August 27, 2016
- Recovery Day, September 10, 2016
- Alumni Day, September 17, 2016
- Ride Out Recovery, September 25, 2016
- Outreach Booths across the lower mainland
-  Recreational Therapy Program

With your support the message of recovery will be seen by hundreds of thousands of people and help reduce social costs and help people stay clean and sober.

Last Door Recovery Society is a registered federal charity and operates accredited addiction treatment centers and adjunct programs for families.

All donations over $30 are eligible to receive a tax receipt.  Thank you for helping us connect recovering addicts to community.
