SCARD is a small charity with a Big Heart. Helping families of those tragically taken from them on the roads.
To lose a child under any circumstances is a pain so physical you never recover from feeling. Sadly every day you are reminded of what they're missing as you see their siblings growing up and doing all the natural things life has to offer
Children taken from us via road traffic incidents are just snatched from our arms in an instant, yet they had so much more to look forward to in life and live for.
The shock causes a great numbness I would never want any parent to feel.
SCARD is a charity set up for families of loved ones who have lost their lives in Road Traffic Incidents.
Everyday someone loses someone they love in this unnecessary way. We at SCARD (Support and Care After Road Death and Injury) provide free counselling to the bereaved.
We support the grieving families by offering valuable support throughout the court process and accompanying them to court if necessary.
We are the only organisation that offers the support of a telephone Help Line which is open from 9am to 9pm 365 days a year.
We also visit schools and interact with pupils teaching them about Car Road Safety. If we only save one child in every school, we save their children and their children's children, and prevent a lifetime of heartache for those they leave behind.
We are just a small organisation which offer support Nationwide. We help provide much needed assistance to the grieving families where no other Road Safety Charity does..
Unfortunately we DO NOT qualify for government funding although we have applied to do so on many occasions.
We rely solely on the kind donations and the hard work of our fundraisers, who we are eternaly grateful to.
Every Year We carry out a 63 mile walk from HALIFAX To BLACKPOOL to raise money for Naomi Cheri Gough's memorial fund (set up within SCARD) Blackpool was the town where Naomi spent her last day before tragically being killed close to home. People from the length and breadth of the country both young and old have taken part in this event, and though it is very difficult, many return year after year.
I am just asking you to see it in your heart to make a small donation so that we can continue to support families who are forgotten and who serve a life sentence through no wrong doing of their own.
No member of the charity takes any money from the donations Every penny is spent on helping those we are set up to assist.
