My name is April Montgomery and my better half is my wife, Ruth Hart....Yes a woman! We have been together for almost 7 years.
We have been trying since June 2013 to have a family and to experience one of God’s greatest gifts of bearing a child. Thus far, we have been unsuccessful and even have had set backs. I found out with initial work up with my physician that I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). It’s a number one cause for infertility and I was also diagnosed with hypothyroid. I was shocked because it’s typically genetic and Lord knows my mom nor my sister had any problems getting pregnant. Now I just feel like a grandma, taking my metformin (PCOS) and synthyroid daily. Our hopes were turned into confusion, resentment and sadness, but we picked ourselves up and kept trying. We have used intrauterine insemenations (IUI) up until now and it’s definitely ALL about timing and it’s a ONE shot try each month, with A HUGE lump some of money towards our goal!!
Now, that we have attempted six times using the IUI procedure our physician has told us our best option for a successful pregnancy is in-vitro in-fertilization (IVF). This comes with a lot of financial burden for us and families that may have to go this route for a pregnancy.
We are reaching out to our community to help with the financial cost of the actual procedures, medications, labs, ultrasounds, and doctors visits needing to make our dream of having a family come true.
ANY small amount will help and we will forever be grateful for any contributions you can give.
Thank you and God Bless,
April & Ruth
