Help Rick Norris

I have never done this before, but my sister-in-law's father was brutally attacked in Phoenix last night and he's going to need help.

Rick is a 62 year-old self-employed cab driver who intervened in a domestic violence situation to save a young woman's life.

When he dropped off ha fare, she was attacked by her boyfriend. When Rick tried to help her he was savagely beaten, sustaining two broken eye sockets, broken upper and lower jaws, and a shattered cheekbone. Additionally he had many of his teeth knocked out.

Because he is self employed I am unsure as to his insurance coverage but at this point we are happy he survived.

My name is Mike Young and I'm a member of Rick's extended family. My sister-in-law Rebecca is his daughter.

I am employed as a financial adviser in Iowa and knew he was going to have significant out of pocket expenses. Funds raised for him will be spent on medical expenses and to offset living expenses during his recovery. I have spoken with Rick's son-in-law Miles about my plans to distribute any funds raised by the end of February, on or around March 1st. After that, if donations continue, he will receive them by check monthly until they are exhausted.
