Early on I had other plans for this summer (like summer school) but during this last semester God has shown me that He has a different plan—one for His glory. Should I be surprised that His was so much greater than the one I had for myself? For the month of June I will serve in Dondo, Mozambique with Children’s Relief International (CRI) along with three other interns.
God has put the real purpose of this trip on my heart. You know me and my heart, so it should come as no surprise that I feel called to love on people so far away. Whenever I hear of others hurting, whether it be close to home or across the ocean, I want to do something to help. This is my chance to do just that!
My hope is to grow in my walk with Christ and to serve the poor in Dondo. My studies in Nutrition will be used to minister to many as malnutrition and HIV/AIDs are huge problems in this region. While there are several other worthy ministries that I will be exposed to, I will spend most of my time at the Tessa Grace Nutrition Center. This program currently ministers to over 80 babies by providing milk, miracle-mix (a nutritional supplement) and health checks. This is so important because if a child has access to proper nutrition early on, their chances of living a healthy life increase exponentially!
I need your prayers! Could you pray that God would change lives and that He would use me and the other interns to glorify Him? I would also love it if you could pray for the safety and energy of all of us as we step out in faith on this adventure.
To make this trip I need to raise $4500. This will cover airfare as well as my in-country costs for a month. If you feel led to do so you can support me financially. No amount is too small.
