Help to be with my fiancee

A few years ago, I met Jake through a mutual friend.  We grew very close, even over the long distance. He lives in Australia and I'm in New York. 
For over 2 years, we spoke back and forth through Skype and games we both played. Then last year, I was able to go out to Australia and visit him. I spent 3 wonderful months getting to know him even more, along with his friends and family. During that time he proposed to me and I said yes. 
Unfortunately, because of Australia's laws, even though we were engaged, I wasn't allowed to stay and I had to return to the states.  I applied for a temporary Visa to allow me to stay in Australia for a year, but I was denied because apparently having less than $500 in my bank account meant I wasn't suitable. It was heartbreaking when I got that news and I nearly gave up hope.
I want to go back as soon as possible, but a Partner Visa is insanely expensive.  Add to that the cost of yet another flight out there and I'm looking at expenses getting close to 10,000 dollars.
I know this might seem selfish, and I know that other people probably deserve the help more than I do, but I just really want to be able to go back to Australia to be with my fiancee, and I hope that someday soon that will become a reality.
