Bouquets of Hope
Donation protected
Through our new ministry, Bouquets of Hope, volunteers and hard-to-employ clients of Catholic Charities of West Tennessee breathe new life into gently used floral masterpieces from weddings, funerals, and special events by repurposing them into smaller, smile-inducing bouquets that are delivered to patients in hospitals, hospices and nursing homes throughout the Memphis area.
Floral arrangements from just one wedding, funeral, corporate function, or special event can provide over forty smiles in bouquet form to appreciative recipients. Each repurposed bouquet is as unique as the volunteer or client who made it and is guaranteed to brighten someone’s day.
Our clients and volunteers also dry some of the flowers to create one of a kind items such as Christmas ornaments, seasonal wreaths, and potpourri that are sold at local craft fairs and festivals. All proceeds are reinvested back into our Bouquets of Hope social enterprise to fund materials and wages for clients in our job-training program.
Bouquets of Hope is blossoming with opportunities. It offers many different volunteer opportunities including arranging bouquets, delivering bouquets, picking up donated flowers, and creating dried flower items. In addition to ongoing volunteer opportunities, the ministry also acts as a job training program for our clients. Through part-time job opportunities, clients from Genesis House, Immigration Services, and St. Sebastian Veteran Services have the opportunity to work with some of the top floral designers in the Memphis area while learning valuable job skills that lead to full-time employment.
