Keep Kenyan Library Growing

Donation protected
Built in 2012, the Kigima Resource Center is a library that serves 7 villages in the Gisambai District of Vihiga, Kenya. Before the library was built, the local schools had very view books, and those they had were out of date and tattered. The library serves hundreds of children and youth in the county.

The Kigima library was built by the Virginia based organization, Serve a Village. SAV pays the rent on the library, as well as the salary of the librarian. We also try to send books 4x each year. We order these books from inside Kenya which eliminates shipping costs and helps buisinesses in Kenya.

The mission of the library is to create a functionally literate and informed society through reading and listening, thereby developing self-reliance and creating harmony among the community.

We are trying to raise the money necessary to support the library for another year.

Donate today to help the library reach this goal!
