Kevin Luther's Medical Expenses

On May 5, 2015, Kevin Luther was hospitalized with what  he thought was surgery for an infected tooth.  After being heavily sedated for nearly 10 days he woke to find that he had been diagnosed  with necrotizing faciitis (flesh eating bacteria). 

Kevin spent much of the past two weeks battling for his life and it appears that he has won this round.  The bacteria has been arrested but all the flesh and muscle from the right side of Kevins' face (starting at the cheek bone), down his neck and extending to his chest has been surgically removed.  During this time period he has endured numerous surgeries, sometimes on a daily basis, just to keep him alive. 

The reconstruction process is expected to be long and slow with many more surgeries involved.  It is likely to be months before Kevin is able to return to  his position as Resort Manager for Vacation Internationale.  Kevin is currently hospitalized in a Portland, OR hospital that is located 3-1/2 hours from his home.  His former wife and their 17 year-old son have been at his side in the hospital most of this time.  During the first week of his hospitalization the family incurred over $1,000  in hotel expenses so that they could be near Kevin. 

The reconstruction of Kevin's face and neck is going to be long, arduous and painful.  To show our support in this valiant journey, his friends and co-workers would like to join together in contributing and soliciting financial assistance for Kevin and his familys' travel costs and out of pocket medical expenses for the months ahead.   Please join us in helping Kevin.
