Keep the Fountain

Donation protected
In August of 2014, Berwyn Park District's Proksa Park hosted The Moving Wall. It is a half-size replica of the Vietnam Wall in Washington, D.C. Unilock, a local building materials supplier, donated a temporary reflection fountain for the event. The fountain was so popular with the public, that they urged the Park District to keep it. On August 30th, 2017, the fountain was vandalized. The liner was puncured, draining the fountain. Two of the three pumps were destroyed, and the electrical wiring was cut. This is a collaboration with Combined Veterans of Berwyn and the Berwyn Park District to make the fountain a permanent fixture in the park. There will be no liner, and no accessible wiring or pumps. The temporary fountain, while beautiful, is very susceptible to vandalism, and requires extensive maintenance. The fountain was brought to the park to honor the men and women who bought this country's freedom, but Berwyn will share it with all who visit the park. You can donate as little as a dollar. It still brings us closer to our goal. If you are unable to donate, we understand. But, help us get the word out to those who can. Share it to everyone you know. Thank you in advance from the Combined Veterans of Berwyn and the Berwyn Park District.
