Keep Russell in UMAR Art Program

Donation protected

My son, Russell Dabak has been attending the UMAR Arts Center  for the past 6 years. Recently the state of North Carolina  cut the funding for this program impacting several attendees, including Russell.  UMAR is a program for adults with developmental disabilities that provides them with the opportunity to harness their creative abilities through various avenues. Whether creating art work, or planting at the McGill Rose Garden in NoDa, Russell has become a regular day Renaissance Man.  You can find him on Monday using his tempered brush techniques to create pieces, like "The Blossom Blooms" (displayed above), and on Tuesday digging in the dirt to plant various herbs, like basil and rosemary. This program has afforded Russell the opportunity to find himself and share his talent and love of art with the world.

As a result of the budget cut, the cost to attend the program is considerable, and without assistance, Russell will not be able to continue to attend the program.  SO, I am asking all, near and far, to please make a donation to allow him to continue to shine, show and share his beautiful talents and abilities with the world.
