On the 3rd of March we recived
the worst news ever that our baby boy keelan Alexander baker had no heart beat an would be born still born it was the most heartbreaking news I have ever had. Early hours that morning I woke with what I can describe as cramp going down my right side of my leg i didn't think much of it to be honest took myself for a wee and struggled to get to and from the toliet i managed to get myself back into bed and had 2 tightings I stood up to reach my drink and I thought my waters broke. I woke my partner luke up straight away and checked and I was bleeding luke rang for the ambulance and I was feeling sceard and faint I knew something must be wrong I passed out few minutes later luke was trying to wake me up when i came round the ambulance just arrived I was rushed into carmarthen hospital and taken straight to labour an delivery I don't remember that much all I remember is they scanned me straight away I remember looking on th screen and couldn't see nothing then that's when the doctor said I'm so sorry there isn't a heart beat...... I shouted check again please check again.another doctor came in and confirmed that my baby boys heartbeat was no loner beating and has passed away...I was in shock and everything happened so fast I was having blood transfusions and drugs to try and stop me bleeding but nothing was working.I was taken to theater and my baby boy keelan Alexander baker was born at 32 weeks and 1 day born at  5.48am weighing 3lb 2oz and was taken to his daddy in another room.I was still asleep and later when I woke up I was in disbelieve luke brought keelan in the room he looked as if he was sleeping so perfect my world had just crashed all in a few hours.my placenter had abrupted which caused him to pass away.during our time in hospital we kept keelan with us as they used a cold cot/cuddle cot which is a cold mat which is placed under him in the cot to keep him cool and to help him keep his colour and it helps parents spend the special time they have with there baby angels it helped me and luke spend time with him and take pictures of him.our local hospital only has one of these cold cots so I think it is important that they should have more than one as if someone else would of been there we wouldn't of got to spend as long as we did with keelan also if that breaks other familys wouldn't get the chance to do so.... so we would like to raise money to get one of these and give other familys the opportunity to use these cold cots.we have had support from the midwives and in hospital and the funeral directors were so lovely so please if you can help raise money and give a donation it will be so kind of you it will make a difference to another grieving family and let them spend some time with there baby before having to say goodbye.
