The Phoenix Performing Arts Centre is in danger of closing. The Phoenix PAC is a small community theatre, that mentors children and young adults in the arts. This theatre will take in any child whether or not they have the ability to pay. Phoenix will also offer scholarships for dance and acting lessons to children whose parents cannot afford to pay our small production fee. With high rent costs, utilities, raising costs of licensing, advertising and the other numerous costs that it takes to maintain a building and put on a show, the Phoenix is in danger of closing its doors. Under the direction of Lee LaChette, who has a BFA in Musical Theatre from Penn State University, Experience of a National Touring Company and many, many years in theatre all over the NE, children and young adults are given opportunities to audition and perform in local productions, living their dreams of acting and dancing on a stage. Lee has been the Artistic Director of the Phoenix without a paycheck, giving 110% to the children. For these kids to lose Lee and Phoenix would be truly devastating to all involved. The Phoenix needs your help!!! Lee and her dedicated staff instill high values and morals in the children and adults that are part of the theatre. These young thespians not only perform but take pride in giving back to the community. In 2012, they raised the most funds in our area with their production of RENT for the Red Cross HIV/AIDS Awareness and Education Program, in other years they have also participated in Anti Bullying Events in our local area, and the kids walked for the Jolee Boarder Foundation for childhood cancer. These kids hosted the elderly in the theatre for refreshments, caroling and a show, performed at a nursing home in our area and raised money for Broadway Cares. Now the Phoenix needs our help!!! Please support these young people in their dreams and support local theatre. If as a community we can each donate a little, we can keep this great theatre alive for our children. The joy on the children's faces as they perform is priceless, as is the joy that is felt by every guest who attends a show. The Phoenix has already turned out so many talented children, who have gone on to some of the most prestigous colleges to pursue Musical Theatre. Our children deserve this opportunity as well. Please find it in yourself to give to this great cause. It would be a true heartache to see this hidden gem in our community be no longer. With your one time donation we can get this theatre in a position to go on for future years. Lets all work together as a family and give these kids the gift of their second home on stage for the future and stop the doors from closing. Thank You All!!!
