Van for Kenbe Fem

Donation protected

We have an orphanage in Haiti. The children in the orphanage live there because they have suffered some trauma, either abuse, neglect, abandonment, or their parents have died. Living in an orphanage can mean a world of difference in Haiti. It can mean the difference between having a home and hope for a better life or living on the street. Living in our orphanage means...  they have Haitian house parents who love them and care for them, they go to the best schools in the area (school is not free in Haiti - we pay tuition, buy uniforms and all supplies), we give them the opportunity to go to college when they finish high school, they receive medical and dental care, they have electricity, fresh water to drink, three meals a day, and gifts for Christmas and for birthdays. Through the generosity of some wonderful sponsors, we are able to supply these basic necessities for the orphanage. However, when other needs arise, it can be difficult to find the money to pay for them. Right now, the orphanage is in desperate need of a vehicle. The house parents are currently trying to transport all of the kids to school and every other place that they need to go in an old dilapidated Toyota 4Runner that is broken as often as it works. We have spent lots of money repairing it, and it doesn't really adequately meet the children's needs. By reaching the $30,000 goal, we can purchase a new van and get it legally titled in Haiti. The van will provide safe and reliable transportation for the children without having to drive multiple trips to get them all to school each day or put them on a moto (Haitian taxi motorbike) when the Toyota is broken down.
