Aortic Dissection Awareness

I am 52 years of age, coming up on 13 years (8/22/2015) since my aorta dissected while playing tennis at the age of 40. I got a second chance at life and started my website, 12 years ago. It's called, www.aorticdissection.com and I have over 500 stories from around the world. 

I am trying to spread the awareness and especially the need for our Emergency Room doctors and nurses to be able to find this disease quickly. The mortality rate escalates tremendously while waiting -especially in a type A dissection, like I had. It's been a miracle for me. 

I just had my latest echo cardiogram and I am due for yet another CT scan this next month. My aortic valve is leaking (moderately) and most likely I will need a new valve down the road. As well as my left hip needs replacing. I am struggling with trying to keep my BP under control and it turns out that my heart beat was too low and causing additional stress on my heart. So, I am not taking as much Metroprol- from 200mgs to 50mgs now.
