In Mrach 2015 the Bascom Palmer Eye Insititute found a large mass in the middle of my brain. The tumor was callled PILOCYTIC, ASTOCYTOMA.The Tumor damaged my Optic Nerves. I have Optic Never Atrophy (ONA) I am considered Legally Blind.
After many different symptoms and life threatening situations as I was taking risks of driving with terrible vision and living through all the pain I was in, my mom took me to the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute emergency room. The doctors ran tests on me and an MRI which revealed I had a tumor in the middle of my brain the size of a plump. They admitted me to Jackson Memorial Hospital. I was in the hospital from March 6 to April 18, 2015.
Thankfully the doctors removed the whole TUMOR and after resereching they determine the tumor was not canceres. After the surgery I went to intensive care for two weeks..
During that time I was also having a problem with the fluid in my brain, my doctor Eric Peterson discovered I had hydrocephalus. on March 23 I had a VP Shunt procedure.
I'm RE-learning how to walk. I'm RE-gaining my balance and my speech through physicial therapy and for now life is my speech teherapy. I'm also RE learning how to live a new life with my new vision.
Recovery is intense and some days I do feel like quitting.
Iam an aspiring filmmaker and I hope that I can continue to create and follow my dreams.
I have a long way to recover, but I'm planning on going back to school to finish my BAS in Film & TV. As soon as I start walking with my walker I have plans to do that.
Iwould apperciate the help so I can recover fully, get my life back together and move foward.
Thank you so much
