Custom Mobility Harness for Katana

It has been a year and a half since Katana started her training as a potential mobility dog for myself after my beloved Sampson passed from cancer in December 2014.

Katana's training has come a long way, and her growing is slowing down.  I knew that when this happened, I would need to start the process of having her mobility harness to be measured, ordered and made for her.   Unfortunately, things have changed for me financially and would have been able to order this piece of equipment easily, but since then, things have changed significantly and because of that, I am hoping that I might appeal to those who currently understand what Katana means to me and my independence.

Lower back problems, hip and leg injuries have kept me very unstable and because of that, this K9 has been a life saver, in keeping me mobile and active. Picking up items that I cannot get to, and even doing some household chores that she has learned very quickly. However, due to the lack of proper equipment to SAFELY teach her mobility elements, such as aiding in helping me safely get to my feet and ultimately works as my 4 legged-cane, I have now realized it is time to move forward with her training. To do so, we need this harness.

The Mobility Support Harness from BLD in Aurora, Colorado is a custom made harness with options that are perfect and made TO the dog AND the handler (see this link: http://boldleaddesigns.com/shop/mobility-support-harness-for-brace-and-balance-stability-assistance/ for more information).  I believe that this is the only harness I have seen that ultimately is concerned about the security of the handler, but the health and welfare of the K9.

However, it is NOT cheap and since I do live on a fixed income  my two priorities are my continued education to this item for safety and continued training for Katana.  This gear will assist me in my ability to remain mobile and continue my passion and goal  of becoming a full fledged and recognized K9 trainer and the continued rehabilitation of other rescue K9's to be come well loved, needed and life changing Service Dog's (SD's) for those that need them.

I am hoping that even some of the cost might be offset by donations, if not help me with the entire purchase of the harness for Katana. If donations exceed this amount, I will use the remainder of the funds to be set aside for her continued health and vetrinarian costs as the come as needed.

If you find it within your means to donate, you have won a special place in our hearts as well as the knowledge that "Thanks You's" can't even begin to be enough for what you have done for me and my K9.
