Kando Youth Theatre are a group of creative young people based in Teesdale .
Members meet weekly and the sessions have become an important creative and social outlet.
KYT's have produced some remarkable and innovative work.
2013: Devised and performed 'Tees Tales' a project inspired by traditional tales and folklore.
The production was a clever blend of live action, shadow theatre, puppetry, and video.
2014: 'Lives in Letters' a shadow theatre film commemorating The Great War. The film featured in the 'Always Remember – Never Forget' exhibition in the DLI Art Gallery, Durham City.
The creative output continues this April with another live theatre piece to commemorate WW1.
Combining popular music hall songs, drama, shadow theatre and film the group will present a touching and poignant portrayal of life during this turbulent time.
We want these young people to continue producing wonderful work. In order to do this we need your help.
The member's subscription fee covers the cost of room hire. The group leaders donate their time freely. However there are other overheads such as costume, production costs and admin.
Your donations will help toward these expenses.
Our aim is to continue providing a fun, creative experience for young people, with your help we can do that.
