Rachel's Fight Against POTS
Donation protected
Rachel is a beautiful, talented and intelligent young lady who is a Junior at Sunlake High School, located in Land O Lakes, Florida. She is a proud member of the Sunlake High School "Soaring Sound" Marching Band, Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band. Last August during our band camp, she became very ill and later was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Rachel has been unable to participate or attend school full time due to her illness.
Rachel has begun a series of experimental treatments which are not completely covered by her medical insurance and has placed a financial hardship on her family who need to focus their efforts on getting Rachel better.
Rachel's diagnosis, which is a form of Dysautonomia, is an orthostatic intolerance that is associated with the presence of excessive tachycardia and many other symptoms upon standing. The symptoms are widespread because the autonomic nervous system plays an extensive role in regulating functions throughout the body.
Please consider a donation to her GoFundMe account.
