Bruce Jackson Foundation

Hello Eastern Community, Family and Friends, it's been a while since I posted something about my buddy Bruce William Jackson. The last time I posted on here, we were trying to raise money for a motorized wheelchair. I am glad to say we reached our goal and got Bruce that chair. Since then, Bruce was all over town with that thing. Nothing could stop him, rain, sleet nor snow. He was free to go on any terrain, field, in any building as he pleased.
Sorry to inform some of you but on December 10th, 2016 Bruce William Jackson passed away. Eastern High School has not been the same ever since. So in honor of Bruce, we wanted to keep his name, spirits, that infectious smile and memory alive. So we are holding our 1st Annual Bruce Jackson Spring Festival at Eastern High School on Friday, May 26th. The festival is being assembled to raise money for scholarships in Bruce's honor. There has been a Bruce Jackson Foundation started to give between 2-4 to students who are selected by the teaching staff every year as long as we can continue funding the foundation. These students must fit into the mold that Bruce came from: community minded, resilient, not necessarily active in sports, activities or clubs, good student and good people person.
The Spring Festival will be done during the students PE classes through out the day on May 26th. Students who donate will be able to participate in different activities of their choice: Volleyball, Frisbee, World Cup, Can Jam, Corn Hole, walk the track or just hang out with friends and jam out to the music that will be playing in the stadium. Students will get a pretzel and a water for a $5 donation and a water, pretzel and a purple rubber wrist band that says "BRUCE JACKSON EASTERN'S #1 FAN" on it as a keep sake for a $10 donation. ALL OF THE PROCEEDS WILL GO TO THE FOUNDATON TO FUND THESE SCHOLARSHIPS.
What I'm asking the Eastern Community, family and friends is, if you could help the Bruce Jackson Foundation by donating what ever you can so we can keep his name, his memory and that smile alive. We don't want this to be a one and done thing. We would like to help our young people out for years to come.
Bruce was always there for the students and staff of Eastern High School. He was a huge supporter of all athletics, clubs, activities and the community. Eastern was his family for so many years so whatever you can do to help the Bruce Jackson Foundation, that would be greatly appreciated.
LET'S PUT A BRUCE JACKSON TYPE OF SMILE ON A YOUNG STUDENT'S FACE WHEN THEY HEAR THEY WERE THE RECIPIENT OF THE BRUCE JACKSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.
