Hi, my name is Starla.
I am a pastry chef, single mother and a cancer survivor. In 2013, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was at work making cookie dough when I got the call from my doctor. Stage III. I had quite the fight ahead of me. All of 2014 was spent battling that terrible disease. What got me through all the pain and fear and endless hospital visits were my daughter Emma and my work as a pastry chef. If I could walk, I was at work in the kitchen, coming up with macaron flavors and other amazing, from-scratch sweets like homemade pop tarts, cupcakes and dessert flights.
I've spent years working for other people, making them money and giving their patrons something beautiful and delicious to look forward to. Now, I'm on the road to recovery and it's time for me to start on my own path to self-employment and fulfillment. But I can't do it without your help. Would you help me bring Starla's Apron to life and make my dream come true?
I will focus on macarons and cupcakes, but I wi
ll also make cakes and desserts for weddings, birthdays, special occasions and what I like to call the "just because" events. I can make almost any theme and flavor you could think of, from traditional chocolate and vanilla to my personal favorites, such as earl grey and cayenne. I can do wedding cakes for small and large parties. And the macarons will be available by mail as well as delivery and pick up, so no matter where you are I can accommodate your need for sweet, delicious, delicate, incredible macarons.
