Zach's Mobile Hope Kindle Project
Tax deductible
Zachary (age 12) is working to raise $38,000 to buy 200 Kindles for Loudoun County, VA homeless kids supported by Mobile Hope, a 501(C)3 ...organization. Thus far, he has raised $3600. Please take a chance to make a difference in the lives of so many kids!
Zach rose to the challenge to “make a difference in our community” and selected this project because he loves to read and he felt that he is fortunate to have access to so many books, whereas some kids don’t have any books at all. He wants to change that. Zach wants these kids to have access to an unlimited supply of fun books and also to textbooks to read and to further their education. With Mobile Hope, he has secured a commitment from our local library to get library cards for the homeless kids so they can access of the library’s free Kindle books and textbooks, too.
Mobile Hope is an amazing organization that helps homeless kids right here in our county, including kids who attend Zach’s school. About 30% of these kids do not even have a legal guardian or parent. Many sleep in the woods, in cars, with friends or in shelters. These kids might feel alone and Zach wants them to know that tpeople are pushing for them and want to help them. Since the kids move around a lot, Zach believes that they will appreciate owning something small, easy to carry/keep safe, take everywhere they go and call their own. They can keep it with them while they sleep and a Kindle won’t take up much space in a backpack
Zach’s goal is to raise $38,000. Each Kindle costs about $120 and comes with a $23, 2-year warrantee. Each power adapter costs $15 and each case costs $32. That means each Kindle and all accessories will cost ~$190 Mobile Hope helps 200-500 kids here in Loudoun so 200 Kindles at $190 apiece will cost $38,000.
