Marine Wounded WarriorUmpire Clinic

The Colorado Collegiate Umpire Association (CCUA) is proud to provide what we believe will be a significant addition to the Marine Wounded Warrior Battlelion's mission to rehabilitate these Marines Hereos by providing them with the training which will enable them to make a significant contribution to amateur baseball.

It is our hope that being able to umpire a baseball game will give these Marines not only a new vocation which will supplement their pay, but more importantly, provide a complementary form of rehabilitation as well as an opportunity to reintergrate back into civiian or military life.

Some of the Marines may transition out of the service. The umpire training we provide will enable them to seek and obtain immediate employment. Other Marines may reintegraate back into the Corps again with the same opportunity to seek and obtain employment as a sports official in their off-duty hours.

Either way, we feel that learning to become an umpire, and then being able to function as a fully certified arbiter of the game will provide these Marines with a new vocation and hours of enjoyment participating in this profession.
