New Van for Jess

Hello everyone,

My name is Jess Hardy, almost 23 years ago I broke my neck after having an odd accident. I tripped over a submerged stump while at the lake and fell directly onto the top of my head and "snap".

Unfortunately, I was alone at the time with my friends in the changing rooms, so I ended up face down in the water, awake, and feeling myself drowning.

Luckly they pulled me from the water, got me breathing again, and had halo flight on its way. Once at the emergancy room, I was awke enough to hear and see two things I never thought would happen, the doctor telling my father I would never walk again, and seeing my father cry.

Now lets fast-forward through 3 month in intensive care, 6 months of rehabilition in a state that was not my home, and forced into college. Being forced into college may sound great for some, but for someone who hated school and just went through a major life altering event, really not the best.

Now lets fast-forward again. Finding that school was not my thing and the path I was looking at really had no future, I pick up an HTML in 21 days book, go through it in a weekend, and I find my new career path. 

Working my way up through a multitude of different clients, state agencies, and cutting-edge companies, I am now at a point in my life where I am a top developer and have just been hired by a fabulous comany.

With a family I love and a job I love, there is one thing that puts both of those in jeopardy. 

For many years now, I have needed to replace my wheelchair van. The current van I have is almost 14 years old and has been having continuous problems. With the vehicle and mobility equipment no longer under warranty, the cost to make any fixes needed has become very cost prohibitive.

My van is the only means of transportation I have and is the only way to get to and from my job. My job is the primary source of income for my familiy and suppoting them is one of the most important things in my life.

Currently there is no state aid that will assit with purchasing or modifing a new vehicle. I have tried for many years to get aid but the backlog and bureaucracy is over-whelming.

I have found a new van, a 2008 Chevy Express with only 26,000 miles and completely modified exactly as I need. This is a wonderful opportunity for myself and family but we currently do not have to total funds required to buy it.

We are currently looking for any support possible to make this purchase possible. We are are $10,000 below the price being asked.
